Homecoming Weekend…

So, I pretty much think that Homecoming is a waste of time and money, thus why I’m not going. I’ve gone every year for the last 3 and it has yet to be a good time, the music generally sucks, and its always really really hot. The game should be a good time, so thats good…but really…its not that important. THE BEST PART OF THIS WEEKEND IS THAT MY BEST FRIEND IS COMING HOME FROM COLLEGE. Legit, thats all I’m excited about with Homecoming weekend. Actually, 2 of my friends are coming so really, I’m glad that I’m not going because I get to see them more now.
The parade and our float, supposedly is really good, so maybe we’ll win again. I do enjoy the game, but with my knee i don’t know if I’ll even be able to go up into the bleechers.
Basically…this weekend needs to come and go faster.

WELLLLL…today I found out that I have to wear this lovely knee brace for the next 6 weeks, and I can’t dance. So I’m not exactly a happy camper today. The only perk of it today was that I got coffee and Diet Coke, because I had extra time before my stupid appointment. This brace isn’t helping, but making my knee hurt more then it already does usually. The guy that gave it to me was just like this doesn’t match any outfits so I might as well just give up for the next 6 weeks.

Technology…?

So technology is probably the biggest thing in my life that I do in a day, everything revolves around technology. If I didn’t have a cell phone, I probably wouldn’t talk to a lot of people as much as I do because its so much easier to text someone then to pick up the phone, look up their number in a directory and then call, after all that energy wasted, I don’t even remember when I wanted to call them. I know a friend that doesn’t have a cell phone and its so much harder to get in touch with her because sometimes she doesn’t answer, or she isn’t home so you can’t get in touch when she isn’t at her house, and that’s just a pain! I also am permenately attarched to my iPod which is a huge part of technology, because Apple takes over the computer and MP3 industry.
Without the Internet, everything would be more complicated, I would have to go to…libraries for research and actually hand write papers, and things like MLA works cited instead of letting a machine do it for me. Communicating with family and friends would also be different, because right now, I can sit here and go on AIM and talk to my friends in different cities and my Aunt from Virginia, my sister in Washington D.C., and my brother in Indiana. It is so much easier to just get online then have to pick up a….LAND LINE!?!?
My life without a computer, haha yeah I wouldn’t have that much of a life, not really but my life would be a lot harder. Writing papers, researching, and things like college applications would be so much more difficult if the computer and internet didn’t exist. Companies would have a harder time getting their information to others because of things like Skype, where you can conference call through the internet. I would also never have any type of information saved because that is also what the computer does for me.
My life without techonology would be seriously boring, and harder to live. I remember life without a cell phone, and it really wasn’t fun. Younger and younger kids are getting cell phones, iPods, and being familiarized with computers and the Internet. It isn’t just the teenagers and a little older, but everyone uses it.
